A Great Day

My wonderful husband wanted to spend my last day before chemo/radiation with me instead of going skiing so we went snowshoeing. I decided a drive was in order today, so we went to Brainard Lake for our walk and it was wonderful, challenging but wonderful. It was basically a half hour down hill and a forty-two minute up hill return. Mick went off the trail (with no showshoes) and sank to his crotch. Who knows how far he might have sunk if his trunk didn't get in the way. No wonder we have to wait till June to hike in the high country.

It was a great way to get my mind off tomorrow's events. Radiation at 11:00 and Chemo at 1:00. We are off to the races. My oncologist mentioned a patient who always said "Let the bombing begin." I got into the problem I have with the battle/war images with these treatments and decided it is time for me just to tell these little buggers it is time for you to pack your bags and move out. You are being evicted starting now - actually I guess it started with the surgery. Whenever, the rest of you guys had better leave or life is going to be miserable for you! So there.
