Interesting Two Days

We took a field trip to Golden Saturday, to see an exhibit I had a piece in. The Foothill Arts Center is really great space and it feels like you are in a museum. I love to go to exhibits there and was especially honored to have a piece accepted for this show. Mick typically goes through a show much faster than I do and he came back to ask me what the red dots and blue stars mean on the name plate. Blue stars are awards and red dots are sold. He then got a big smile on his face letting me know I had sold my painting! I later went to the desk to see if they knew who purchased it and it was a total stranger who bought it the opening night of the show. What a way to get a lift of spirits!

 

If you'll notice, it is the painting I am using for the masthead on my blog. As I said to Mick, "I'm not sure I'm ready to part with it " but when your "public" wants it, it is time to say goodby.
