Modern Masters

Roy Lichtenstein
Yesterday (5/7) included a trip to Denver Art Museum to see the exhibit from the Albright/Knox Museum in Buffalo. Buffalo? All these masters? Wow, who wudda thunk. If this traveling show comes to your area - don't miss  it. Many those modern master's paintings in your Jensen Art History book are hanging there in front of you. Art books are great to look at (no matter how good the printing is) but there is nothing like seeing the whole thing right in front of you. Unfortunately there were no pictures allowed so this isn't too exciting.

My instructor directed me to DeKooning and Mitchell to see how our pieces work. I am even more impressed with my painting but we know that too will change.  I fell in love with the work by Joan Mitchell.

Jordan was getting a group of his students together to give us a lesson/tour of the show so off I went on Friday (5/23) to see the show again only to realize I was a week early! So I got to see it again.

Yesterday (5/30) I went to the Denver Art Museum (yet again) to see the Modern Masters with a lecture. I do see more and learn more about my own art each time I go. This time our friends Dick and Diane joined me in case I was going to be "alone" again. We all enjoyed Jordan and a yummy lunch together.

Clifford Stills isn't my favorite artist but he can make a mean desert. Fresh berries and berry sorbet on some little crunchies, black pepper meringue cookies, painted sponge cake under and around strawberry mousse topped with whipped cream, lace caramel on top and a schemer of aged Basalmic. Popcorn for dinner after that.
