Rugged Trail

Yesterday was almost summer in Boulder, 73 degrees and perfect weather for a hike (this morning we had another few inches of snow - I am ready for spring for real). Orion tried a hike up Mt. Sonitas in Boulder. It was a much more rugged walk than I expected and was worried about Orion's hips and wrist - he has had problems with both. We did turn around after a woman told me we were only half way to the top. Have to save those joints. He did sleep solidly all night. Didn't wake me up, panting in my ear in the middle of the night!

Look how tiny those people are on the two lower trails and you get an idea of how high we had climbed by then.

Laurie and Davide's roof is somewhere next to the park with the very green grass.

Higher still and all those red roofs are the CU campus.

Is this a baby Flat Iron? See the rocks in the foreground? The trail was make up of this rock - big and small and steep.
