Never Ending Winter

Will it end?
The following pictures were taken two days before the first of May. It was a VERY wintery day with very little melt and what did melt refroze into ice. The snow did some sublimation during the night but it sure didn't melt. Feels like everyone is finished with winter except Mother Nature. (3-5" of snow in the mountains today).

Snow shoes and five fingers just don't work together so I'll just compromise with my boots.

More heavy wet snow last night.

There was a turkey trot back here this morning.

This little pine cone has learned how to protect itself.

Wind and snow sculpted some interesting snow patterns on the deck.

As the snow melted off the roof it dripped and seems to have partially frozen in the air and we have these piles of frozen water drops.

Then there were the stalagmites and stalactites under the deck where the melt that didn't freeze above the deck froze below. There was no escaping the big late April freeze.
