Cuba I

We had an amazing trip to Cuba. We came home feeling a bit conflicted about the opening up to the US. They do need help in many ways but I hope they don't loose all the things that make it such a special place. I'll start here with some general sights.

Arriving in Havana

Art of a very prolific artists who not only decorated his home but traveled around the neighborhood. Wish I could remember his name.

Lots of Havana has been restored but there are still lots of areas that still look like this.

This is and area that was occupied by rich Spanish. They had the cobblestones removed and wood bricks installed in the street so it would be quiet for their siestas.

Conversation on the square.

Renovations in process

Another neighborhood

Santiago de Cuba is incredibly buse and polluted. No emissions control here.

We were told it is always busy here - 24/7
