After a horrific thunder storm last night with grapple, hail and rain, we woke up to almost 1" of snow! I knew it had to happen because we took the snow tires off yesterday. Roscoe was thrilled.
Yesterday was an interesting day at the infusion center after saying good-by to my physical therapist. I finished with Brandy and gave her one of my paintings and we each had a few tears and hugs. She has been so good and supportive. The timing was perfect also now that I'm on this "happy pill" and I am exercising some on my own. When I walk Roscoe in the woods now, I take a 3 lb. medicine ball and go through a series of upper body exercises along with pushups on trees (that bark can be painful) and step-ups on stumps. Usually I don't see anyone to think "there goes that crazy mountain lady again".
I did read my neighbor's blog yesterday and learned this area has been crawling with puma lately. She has motion detecting cameras out back and has spotted them on all her cameras. Altho none are in the meadow or people trails she has gotten pics of some very close to those areas. I'll throw my 3 lb ball at them. Too bad my aim is horrible.
The real blog I had planned for today was a visit to the infusion Center. I know I've taken u there before but really, I'm there every three weeks and u should have a visit more often.
I was sitting in the waiting room, waiting (I was early) and three women came in and sat in the seating area I was in. We all looked about the same age. They were talking among themselves and I learned the woman next to me was the one with cancer and was terrified. I said something like it is never fun and she glommed on to me. U have cancer? What kind? How Long? It turns out she had Ovarian cancer 20 years ago and went to hell n back with treaments and is now terrified of chemo for breast cancer. Wish I thought fast enough to let her know how much better treatments are today and the auxiliary drugs the have for side effects today AND especially get some anti-anxiety meds the whole process can be easier. At least she has a good support system. After she left I spoke to two other women who were waiting. It is usually very quiet while we wait but I did like the feeling of community.
I'm really wordy this morning so just let me post some pics of the infusion and go plan our road trip.
I'm taped well here but there is a gizmo with a small needle on the end that goes into the port. |
We have new machines to feed us. So much quieter and the old ones and they don't beep every few mins. for picky little things. |
This is where my treats hang, the tubes go through the machine to regulate the drip into the tube and needle in my port. |
