Retail Therapy

I'll have to go back to Positano for these bright dresses.
I'm really getting bummed with the frustration of trying retail therapy and not finding something! Sooo tired of black and earth colors. I need COLOR. Can't be yellow or green - they just make me look jaundiced. I try to go to stores with unusual designs but usually limit myself to sale items. I guess winter is basically drab, dark colors. Maybe I'll head into some consignment stores the next time I have the urge and energy.

I've been reading a book called Crazy Sexy Cancer and am enjoying it along with lots of tips and suggestions. The latest is using your cancer card. Anytime you want special treatment or may not want to do something - use your cancer card. "Can I upgrade my seat, I have cancer." I really don't think I can go to your daughter's dance recital, I have cancer." "I know the deadline is passed but I was having cancer treatments and couldn't get to it in time." These women are very creative but sometimes denied, also. HA, I just used my first "cancer card". Our phone has been out off and on since Tuesday and I had an appointment scheduled for Monday but I told him I was having a cancer treatment tomorrow and couldn't be here. So considering my situation, he rescheduled it for Tuesday (not a month from now)! It works!!!

Spent yesterday and part of today painting and it felt sooo good. Prepped a bunch of paper today so I am ready to really work. May be doing some collages, also. I also signed up to take another week long workshop with Gwen Fox in July. I am so excited about that because I got so much out of it last year and am really anxious to see what comes out of it this year because I will be comfortable with acrylics and abstract painting!

Time now to curl up with a good book.

  1. Great to hear of your plans and optimism and wiliness. And ain't it awful to be wiling to spend money--to need to buy something--and not be able to find anything to spend it on.
