Happy Valentines Day

Day one over with very little trouble. The radiation was quick and easy, had a quick lunch in the hospital cafeteria which was full of vegies. I this is the normal lunch at the Foothills campus, that is where I want to go in the future. Well, at least for the food.

The infusion room is very nice but I think I'll dress in layers in the future. The first two meds (preliminary for allergic reactions and nausea) were fine. Next came the Taxol which started out fine but my cough suddenly got worst and the nurse was concerned. That was followed by cramps in my lower back and they said I was having an allergic reaction. They stopped the Taxol and gave me saline and some more Benadryl till I returned to normal then they resumed the Taxol. It wasn't long before the Benadryl had me in la la land and I slept for over an hour. Then came the Cicplatin and that went smoothly. After 4 1/2 hours I was free to go. We stopped to get a new cough medicine and got home by 5. I was in bed - asleep by 5:30 and finally got up at 1:30 for some diner. Back to sleep for the rest of the night and no nausea. I am a bit light headed and dizzy (dizzier than normal, wiseguys) this morning so Mick is going to bring me down for radiation and a valentine lunch. The chemo reaction should calm down a day or two after the infusion.
