The trip has been great so far execpt I haven't eaten this much deep fried food ever - and we are just starting. It isn't easy to find healthy food when traveling especially in the south and the southwest when u can't eat spicy Mexican and I am afraid I am going to pass on the brisket in Austin. Maybe Mick can share a nibble with me.
We went to a tiny black restaurant in Manor, TX for dinner tonight and had a fantastic waiter. We had to try the fried catfish which I would have liked much more if I hadn't had so many fries already but the crunchy cornmeal dredged fish and fresh fries with season salt along with Texas toast was yummy. Don't these people ever eat veggies???
It is very hot and humid here but the breeze feels wonderful.
