The guys and I went for a hike yesterday from the ghost town of Caribou. We had to drive up "highway" 505 for 5 miles to start. Note the sign on this highway.
Shortly after we started O found some wild water for a drink.
Wild water without dog.
Another sign
on highway 505.
Man and beast getting closer to the tree line.
This is bald mountain. It has been calling to me since before we moved to town. I see it every time I drive to Ned. I hope I get a chance to climb it this summer.
It has been said that the wind is born in Caribou. These trees have to put up with a good strong wind! I was not tilting for these shots - honest.
A view of Bald from the top of Caribou Hill (10,500 ').
Someone made a rock hideout so they can have their picnic or nap out of the wind.
As we came down from the hill top there were a caravan of at least 8 cars driving highway 505. Not a road I'd care to drive but it was a great walk.
