The Waterfall Hike

We have been hearing about the Gross Reservoir waterfall since we arrived and Orion and I finally saw it yesterday. It was a beautiful morning for a hike. Its a walk down into a small canyon.

A bit of a challenge weaving our way through this mass of willows. Well the quadruped scooted right through but being taller the biped had a challenge.

The trail followed this stream all the way down to the falls. It was pretty active with spring water. It is very interesting how springs are popping up all over around here. Is that how spring really got its name?

These guys look like Solomon Seals to me. We have to go back in a few weeks and see if they are and if they are false or real.

Here we are looking down the falls. I made a video so you could listen to it but can't seem to upload it so use your imagination - big thundering falls but not quite Niagara.

Here we are at the bottom of the falls and the brown past the rocks is actually the shore of Gross Reservoir and the water is obviously low.

Then we were home not 5 min. when I looked out the door and there was horizontal snow. I thought enough already but little did I know.

While at work (volunteer) we got an email from the highway department and they had three models that predicted anywhere from 12 to 60" of snow through tomorrow (Wed) night!!!!
