Big City

I went to a Colorado Watercolor Society meeting in Denver last night but beforehand I did a little exploring in the city. Decided to go a little early to find LoDo. This picture was taken there, as the thunder storms were playing around with the sun. The building in front is Union Station, so if any of you want to visit by train, I now know there to get you.

I had the best spinach salad at a little place called 8 Rivers. It had jerk chicken and pineapple (along with the regular salad stuff) and a jerk basalmic dressing. My lips were burning but boy was it worth is!

The meeting was good, too. I got to reconnect with a friend of my sister's and the talk was on plein air painting. That is something I started doing in the Netherlands and plan to do lots more here - starting in Moab in a couple weeks. I told Mick what the subject was and I heard this confused silence - painting plain air???? I had to explain that it is french for painting in the air - outside.
